CONTRACTOR RIG FOR SERVICE BODIES
The Contractor Rig™ is available for 8', 9', and 11' service/utility bodies. It is made entirely of aluminum and stainless steel and is available in the I.T.S.® (heavy) series and also in the standard series. The rack is mounted to the Utility Trak™ which attaches to the top surface of the service body using concealed bolts and also serves as a structural anchor rail for various tie-downs. 8' body trucks usually utilize two trusses, one at the front of the body and one at the rear. Mid, or third, trusses are sometimes used on 9' bodies and usually used on 11' bodies.

Since the distance between the top of a service body and the roof of the truck varies, legs for service/utility bodies are ordered based on the height difference of the top of the body to the top of the cab roof. We stock legs in even number sizes starting from 12", so we have the right size parts regardless of the differential in height of your truck. The Extension Beams for Contractor Rigs are supplied in lengths of 102", 120", 138", 147", 156" and 174" depending on the body and cab length. The Heavy Work Contractor Package is pictured above and combines the heavy I.T.S. rack with 4 integrated Work Winches®.

For bodies lacking enough field area to mount Utility Traks, such as those with top opening compartments, a standard Pick-Up Trak™ usually works. Because the top-opening lid occupies the space where the Utility Trak would normally mount, the trak is installed on the small stationery ledge next to the compartment hinge. This is a common configuration and the effect of mounting the traks inboard from where they normally would be is that the crossmembers are accordingly narrower.
